A visit to Crews. Starship Scramble Devlog#3

In the last couples of days I have been spending my time on quality update change and revisiting defensive stats that's require some touch to make them viable.

I started with simplifying crew description, that is removing crew trait entirely, updating icon for stats. Text is mostly generated  to reduce the human error, however, certain description still requires manual writing due to its uniqueness.

 

Recruitment selection now display the stats panel to allow players reflecting their current stats. Players are often overpowered by the wave of 6,7,8 due to the sear amount of crews you have collected. Therefore, the amount of crew you can rescue has been reduced significantly. Ultimately, this update force players to purchase crew if they are to improve specific stats for certain play style. I expect the amount of free upgrade will be much lower. 

Moreover, selecting up to 6 crews is kind of exhausting, with has result to the newest system of multiple selection. You can hover card to see description and refresh if need be. This panel only replaces the convention crew selection if you have at least 3 crews in recruitment at the end of the wave. For now, hovering the card can be a little uncomfortable. Btw, this system took me more time than I expected. 

Melee weapon auto-targeting also got a minimal update to adjust their behavior a little. More importantly, drones has receive the same update on their very "IQ"! Hey, you can build your very own army of ship from now on. 

Furthermore, the range bug has been resolved! they were cool but has to be gone! Thanks to my discord member Morgenthau for finding this bug.

Finally, I have revisited defensive stats as many players completely ignore those. Shield recovery has been nerfed to with recover duration changed from 1 second to 2 second.
Defense is calculated by the following formula : defense value = 15/(15+defence) if defense is positive and = 1- defense/(15-defence) if defense is negative. You can check the percentage of damage you are taking by hover on the defense stat.

There is also immunity duration after you take damage. No more instant death! yay. 

Dodging also has a small vfx! don't ignore this stats can be very handy!

What to expect in the next update? Hmm, I have been planning to develop a sound system including music/ sfx and controller for sound. If no major issue arise, I would mainly focus on developing that system to enhance the value of Starship Scramble Demo.

bug after selecting crew members .
if the number of selected crew is the same as crew slots left
 and if "confirm & refresh" clicked  is using crew slot, game will be stuck in selection screen. ie 4(crew slots) - 4 (crew selected)- 1 (c&r_using crew)
meanwhile the  even clicking confirm  & refresh using coins will fail to proceed to shop.


and first crew selection gives the old 4 job crew selection

I definitely fixed that bug!!! but well gonna check it again

Ok! I tracked the bug down. I would update it later with other major change since it is a minor bug and you can avoid it by selecting all the crew,(I think I missed click and deselect 1 of the crew)! I would try to fix the selection error as well.
